Thinking globally..
Why do we need higher education? The fact is that the necessity of higher education is obvious; there are several main reasons: to be competitive on labor market, to satisfy mental needs, to benefit society from our work. Now think about Internet-based education in this context: does it further or hinder purposes of education?
We, students, treat the distance education as the new era in education technologies. Now we have a chance to receive more knowledge in one semester, to use our time more effectively, and, as a result, overfulfill our educational plans. Knowledge of any area has one disadvantage – its life time is too short. With help of e-learning the velocity of information spread increases tremendously. Internet-based education is able to give us the freshest knowledge. Undoubtedly, internet education makes us more self-organized, gives us more opportunities, creates more key competences. Communication with different people makes us think globally, understand and become familiar with many cultures and traditions.
Now we do not belong to the particular country; it does not matter who you are and where you are from – we are members of internet society.
